It is free to sign up for a Hornell Public Library card!
To sign up for a library card, you will need to:
- Fill out the Registration Form
- Full legal name and preferred name
- Current address
- Current phone number
- Reference (Full legal name, address, & phone number)
- Provide a photo ID and current piece of mail at the time of registration
- For those who are 18 years old or over, you will need a photo ID and a current piece of mail with your name and address on it.
- If you do not have a piece of mail with a current address on it, we can mail you a note card to the current address provided on your Registration Form and you can bring it back to the library to continue your registration
- Children 12 and under will need to be accompanied by a parent or guardian to co-sign their card. The adult will need to provide a photo ID and current piece of mail.
- For those who are 18 years old or over, you will need a photo ID and a current piece of mail with your name and address on it.
All telephone numbers will be verified before a library card is issued.
New card holders may borrow three regular circulating items from the library. After 30 days, if the items have been returned and patron is in good standing, we will follow regular circulation policy.
New card holders must wait 30 days to borrow from our Library of Things and Tool Lending Shed. Patrons must be a resident of the Hornell School District and 18 or older or be accompanied by responsible adult to borrow from the Library of Things or Tool Lending Shed. Director can make an exception.
